| First morning in Leognan... Espresso, baguettes and Scrabble! |
Then we went for a bike ride to check out the vineyards and to see where Jean-Pierre and Francoise's family vineyard is. We found it and will go back tomorrow when they are open and we have our wallet! :-) We've already tasted their wine, as they left us a bottle as a welcome gift to enjoy. It is delicious!
We were making lunch when the neighbour stoppped by... a 13 year old boy who wanted to say hello and invite the kids to come play in their pool this afternoon. They were excited!! It was the first time that any neighbourhood kid has approached us since coming to France, so they were so happy about that. We walked them across the road and met the parents and the children... they were quite friendly and we found out they just moved into this area 4 months ago, from close to Paris. Our kids weren't talking too much to the other kids yet but I am sure they will warm up to each other and become less shy about speaking French. The other kids do speak a little bit of English as well, so they will manage.Their pool is a huge "real" pool. Score! And they have a large back yard, with many mature fruit trees so it is very nice. The previous owner had lived there for 30 years.
