The beach won out over going to Carcassonne. I'm a bit sad about this as Carcassonne has been high on my list of place that we "had to" see! But I think skipping it was the best decision because it was SOOO HOT today. Carcassonne would have been a really long travel day in the heat and in the end, we have seen so many medieval castle type of places, I don't think the kids would have really appreciated it at all. And I was also pretty sure it was going to be ridiculously crowded and touristy as well, and I think we're all completely DONE with that scene.
The beach was gorgeous, relaxing and just what we needed. And traffic was much better today than it was last week, so that was a bonus.
I completely fried the back of my legs.
At night we went for a swim in the neighbour's pool before bed. They were so nice to give us a key to their back garden gate while they are away, so we can use their pool even though they are on vacation. Just the nicest family!
