We lounged around for awhile, watching the Olympics and moaned about how we had no interest in doing anything or going anywhere. Finally we got in the car and drove around for about 45 minutes, through the vineyards.... initially we had planned to bike but it was very hot today... about 38 degrees. No thank you, Rodger. :-) Stopped to check out a super fancy chateau, which is a vineyard, hotel and expensive restaurant... checked the menu and some of the entrees were $75euros. Yeah,I think we'll just walk around the property, take a photo and leave now.
At 3:00 pm we headed towards the tram station, that would take us to the soccer stadium in Bordeaux... Woo Hoo!! We were very excited about seeing a soccer game! In a brand new stadium that was built for the Euro Cup! The tram ride was less than comfortable.... it was so hot and we were stuffed in like sardines - everyone heading to the same place. We were one of the first stops at the beginning of the line, and we were getting off at the end of the line... 1 hour later... standing. Augh. Love public transit. But it was the best option and it was easy and cheap - 4.50euros to park the car and ride the tram, both ways. A pretty amazing deal, considering we paid 13 euro to park in Bordeax's parkade last week.
Anyway, after a very long queue we finally made it into the stadium, just as the players were walking onto the field. Whew... we made it! We are here!! So exciting!
The game was awesome, the fans were great and it was such a highlight to be watching the game. It also helped that Bordeaux won the game. :-)
Back to the super-packed tram, and home by 8:30pm, sweaty, tired and happy.

An experience you will never forget!! Such fun!!
